How our Carers can help
Saffron Support provide daily visiting care for individuals who are palliative and choose to stay at home in the comfort of their own home. All off Saffron Support, support workers are trained in end-of-life care and work to a very high standard. We promote dignity and respect, and this is offered to every individual through out their journey with Saffron Support.
Saffron Support has a very good support network with all the local district nurses and doctors to provide the full end of live services and support not only the individual but the whole family.
It is an honour for Saffron Support to be able to come and help when the individual is at their most venerable time.
Saffron Support offers a small team of support workers so the individual can make a connection with them, and continuity of care is achieved for the individual.
Saffron Support offers
- Personal Care – to help with washing and dressing, changing clothes, toileting.
- Medication Support – We can assist with medication administration where we support the individual in popping out the tablets from the packaging and ensuring they are able to take them.
- Companionship / Sitting Services – to stay with the individual during the day and offer support to them and the family.
- Overnight Support – if you are feeling worried over night, we have support workers that can come in and stay with you for the night on a waking night. This allows loved ones to get some rest at night and can be a relief to individuals that somebody is on hand if they need a drink or some company during the night.
- Hydration and Nutrition – Saffron Support would be able to ensure that they leave drinks and food with the individual on every call and monitor how much is being eaten and drunk.
- Catheter and Stoma Support – Every support worker is trained in catheter and stoma care. One of the team of Saffron Support would complete an assessment and this would all be written up in the individual’s person-centred care plan. We would also be able to lease with the stoma nurse or the district nurses with any concerns with the stoma or catheter.
